Question : My daughter 30 years old had large pimple under her left breast. Now there is a purplish mark and what looks like whiteheads in the area. We have tried washing frequently and baby powder and it does look a little better but not gone after 2 weeks. Could this be acne or something more serious? She has a family doctor appointment in 6 weeks. Is it ok to wait that long to have her look at it or should she go in sooner?

I have gone through the question and understand your concern.

I think you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. There are 2 possibilities in my mind.

One is that your daughter has mastitis which is an infection of the breast. The other possibility is that she has a tumour of the breast.

Usually, breast tumours are picked up quickly. It would be a good idea to see a doctor and get a biopsy of the area to confirm the cause.

If the biopsy is positive for a tumour, then the doctor will order surgery to treat your daughter.
