Brief Answer: Detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome, I am Dr Madhuri and will be answering your query. cycle norm e and p are birth control pills and I am not sure how you have taken them. Kindly mention the full dose and the for how many days you took the pills and on what date did you stop them. With this information I will be able to help you better. Since you did a pregnancy test, I assume that you are sexually active and use cyclenorm e and p as birth control pills. iIf the pills have been taken as per instructions beginning from the first day of the periods and no pill was missed or delayed, then pregnancy will not occur. However if there was some problem with taking the pills then pregnancy is possible. A pregnancy test will come positive at least 7-10 days after the missed periods in women with regular cycles and even more later in women with irregular cycles. So please check to see if the test has been done too early. I recommend that you repeat the test once again using the first morning urine sample. If it is still negative then pregnancy is ruled out. You have also mentioned that you faced this problem earlier. And since 4-5 months they were regular [ did you begin cylonorm since the last 5 months and then periods were regular? ]. So the possibility is that you may be having polycystic ovarian syndrome. This is a very common condition where there are imbalances in the different hormones that regulate the periods. This imbalance leads to problems with development and release of the female egg and irregular cycles. It can be diagnosed by ultrasound and blood hormone tests. The treatment includes weight loss, eat healthy diet and also drugs like metformin and oral contraceptive pills depending upon the need of the patient. Other reasons may be disturbed thyroid and prolactin hormone and also ovarian cysts. So as of now, please repeat a urine pregnancy test. Also provide me the details of the history. If the pregnancy test is negative then treatment will depend upon how you have used cylconorm e and p. My best suggestion to you, in case the pregnancy test is negative is to see a doctor get an examination and an ultrasound. Only then will correct diagnosis and treatment be possible and help you in the long term. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free to ask any more questions that you may have.
