Question : I had a colonoscopy yesterday. Had a little trouble with the prep, vomited after second bottle & water. Procedure went fine. The doctor found two polyps and mild diverticlous. I now have pain, mostly on the left side. Feels like a muscle pull and a headache. Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
This is normal don t worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I understand that you have pain on the left side colonoscopy procedure.
It is a normal to experience this type of pain in the left side after colonoscopy because of the curvature of large intestine .
Colon takes turn to left side and continues as large intestine. When a colonoscope is introduced, it turns to left side and in the process there is more injury and pull of the muscles on left side.
This pain is temporary and will go away in 3 to 4 days. please continue the medicines prescribed.
Let me know if you have any more query.
