Possibility of cervical spondylosis, consult a neurosurgeon or neurologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Neck pain at this age may be due to cervical spondylosis. If there is cracking sound on movement then possibility of spondylosis with joint involvement is more.
Is there any history of radiation of pain to limbs, any motor weakness, urinary complains?
You should consult a neurologist or a neurosurgeon for proper examination, evaluation and investigations.
Till then you should avoid heavy weight bearing on head, extreme movements of neck, Chiropractor exercises.
Pin killers , pain modulators(pregabalin, gabapentin, amitryptylline) may be taken.
Neck collar can also be used.
Local pain relieving ointment may be applied.
