Question: Hi I have had a headache for the last three days. It's in the top left hand side of my head and behind my left eye is sore, is the only way to describe it. I am on medication for high blood pressure Losartan 100mg and Amilodipine 10mg a day. I feel sickly and lethargic with it.
What to you advise.

Brief Answer:
Take medication and provide more details

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome to HCM.
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Unilateral headache may be due to migraine.

Is there other features of migraine like nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound?
Throbbing nature, aggravating with fasting, releiving on rest or medication?
Is there any other symptoms suggestive of secondary headache instead of migraine like loss of consciousness, seizures, visual loss, fever, swelling in eyes, redness of eyes ?

For migraine you can take Tab. Naproxen(250-500mg Twice daily for 3-5 days) for acute pain relief.

If you have previous history of such migraine attacks and the number of attack are many then you may need prophylaxis as well.

For migraine prophylaxis Flunarizine, Topiramate, Valproate, amitryptiline or propranolol may be started. Since these are all prescription medicines , so you need to check into your local physician to get them.

Take rest, medications and timely food.

Avoid stress, sleep disturbances, chocolate and coffee.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Headache may be secondary to sore throat also

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome back.

Sore throat with earache may be sinusitis with middle ear infection or blockage. Sometimes headache may be present in sinus infection also.

Take antibiotics if required, decongestant for ear problem.
Get examined for any perforated ear drum.

Any skin lesions or eruption over ear, any facial deviation.

If all other symptoms are absent then only pain killers may help in pain.
