Question : My wife has a moderate pain on the left side of her abdomen. This pain has lasted for approximate 9 hours, but has not gotten worse. This pain is accompanied by nausea. She took a pregnancy test which said that she is not pregnant.

I can understand your concerns.

Pain on left side of tummy can have many reasons.

It can be colitis ie infection of large intrstine due to eating unclean food.

It can be ectopic pregnancy which can have negative pregancy test.

does she have any change in bowel habit?

Get a sonography of abdomen and pelvis to find exact cause.

she is going to the bathroom more often.

then it is colitis.

i will advise you to get a stool microscopy and start her on antibiotics tinidazole and norfloxacin. Both these are prescription drugs, you may want to talk to her doctor about the same.

when was her last periods and did she eat food outside?
