Question: My husband has a leg cramp with a large indentation in his calf and his leg was crooked. It lasted 10 minutes and then went away. Is this serious?

Thanks for the query.
Leg cramps are a very common phenomenon and especially in people above the age of 60 years,where 1 in 3 people do get affected by it.
In most of the cases,the cause is never found and there is nothing serious about it but there can be various causes which should be looked into,if they are happening frequently.
The causes are...
Dehydration
Diarrhoea
Use of diuretics 
Electrolyte imbalance arising out of extreme sweating
Lack of calcium
Alcoholism 
Underlying medical disorders like diabetes,peripheral artery disease,hypothyroidism,cirrhosis etc.
In case you are getting the attacks repeatedly,then you must consult a doctor and get your electrolytes checked up Along with investigations for above said medical conditions.
