Question : I am having leg pain at night that appears to be related to taking Omeporzole (Prilosec). I would like to try another medicine, just in case this is the cause. Do you know of another medicine that treats GERD as well as Omeprozole? I have also tried Ranitidine (Zantac) which did not work.
Brief Answer:
There are a lot of choices
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
there are a lot of choices. I'll mention some:
- pantoprazole 40mg once per day or twice per day (particularly when esophagitis is present)
- lansoprazole 30mg once per day or 30mg twice per day (same as above)
-rabeprazole 20mg once per or twice per day.
I can't provide results of efficacy comparisons because there aren't any direct (head to head) studies that addressed this issue.
So using any of them seems appropriate.
I hope I've helped!
Kind Regards!
