Brief Answer: Not oral herpes Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX, The lesions are on the back of the tongue. They are in the location of tongue papillae. Oral herpes usually occurs over angle of lips. A severe episode may involve gum and anterior tongue also. But they are grouped blisters and they rupture to form very painful erosions, very red and inflamed. Do not worry. This is not oral herpes. Hope you are convinced. Take care.
