What Causes Light Period Bleeding?

Question: I just began my menstrual cycle but the problem is that it is almost nonexistent and I've always had medium to heavy flow. is it possible that is light due to working out and being active about 3-5 data a week?

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
A period that deviates from normal can be due to stress, exercise, weight loss or gain, erratic sleeping or eating habits etc.
However, a pregnancy test should be taken as a precaution if you are sexually active.
Also, conditions such as Polycystic ovarian disease ( PCOD ), hypothyroidism, endometrial hyperplasia etc can also cause scant menstrual flow.
What you should do is this - just take a precautionary pregnancy test.
If negative, you can put it down to exercise and stress at work.
If the pattern persists next month too, have a formal gynaecological examination ( per vaginum and per speculum ) plus a pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal assays.
