To check for endometrial thickness and ovarian cysts

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

Would you clarify a few things for me please?
*have your periods been regular? How long does they last and how frequently do you get them?
*do you have children?
*are you on any supplements?
*have you made any lifestyle or diet changes recently?
*how long have you been spotting in between cycles?
*when did your mother attain menopause?
*any sisters? Have they attained menopause? At what age?
*any family history of cancer?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medications?

Bleeding in between periods needs to evaluated right away to check for overgrowth of uterine tissue or hormonal imbalances.

I recommend :
-an OBGYN consult
-ultrasound abdomen to check for ovarian cysts, endometrial thickness
-biopsy or dilation and curettage (D&C) of the uterine contents of bleeding is prolonged or heavy
-blood tests (complete blood count, Thyroid stimulating hormone, kidney and liver function tests, estrogen and progesterone levels, follicle stimulating hormone and Leutinizing hormone levels, blood sugar levels)
-pap smear

Based on these we can find out what's going on and treat if necessary.
Sometimes just medical management with close observation will be enough. Please see your doctor right away to check for these.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Kindly get back to me with the above requested info.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
