What Causes Lightheadedness And Pressure At The Back Of The Head?

default
Posted on Sat, 10 Sep 2016
Question: Been sick last couple days, light-headed, head pressure and back of head/neck hurts, slight fever (not measured, I didn't feel hot). Can't sleep unless I take acetameniphen, but when I do I get sweats and chills, lasts about 6 hrs, gives me time to sleep a couple hours. Head pressure has seemed to go away, but still couldn't sleep unless I take acetameniphen. Was thinking of going to the out-patient to see what might be the problem. Have about 6-7 hours sleep last 3 days.

Brief Answer:
Need examination

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You seem to have an ailment which needs to be addressed at an Out patient department. If acetaminophen is able to help you then you can continue that..

Light headedness, pressure and back of head pain seem to be tension headache or migraine headache. Some infections can also cause similar symptoms. However I think you should get Heart rate, Blood pressure, temperature recorded. An ECG and heart examination is also required to rule out heart ailments.

Hope you understand the importance of a physical examination by a primary care physician.
