What Causes Lightheadedness, Skipped Heart Beats And Light Pressure In Head?

default
Posted on Fri, 12 Jun 2015
Question: Hi, I'm experiencing lightheaded symptoms and light pressure in the face and head (with slight muscle spasms on the side on nose, around eye lids and legs). In addition my heart beat seems to skip or stop a beat. This has been going on now for about two weeks. Should I be concerned enough to go to the hospital?

Brief Answer:
Arrhythmia

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

From the symptoms you have listed out it looks like you might be having some form of arrhythmia ( irregular beating) of the heart. It is most common when there is a viral infection of the SA node, however conduction abnormalities can happen in your age group.
Arrhythmia can cause light headedness and tingling sensation over the face due to reduced blood supply. I recommend that you approach a cardiologist as soon as possible.
I also suggest

1. Do not drive until you are evaluated
2. Do not be around sharp objects or height
3. Do not drink caffeine, alcohol or exercise until evaluation
4. Do not travel
5. Do not smoke

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
