Week is a possible time of constipation not caused by a disease. But in some cases week of constipation can cause an obstruction. Moreover what is thought to be constipation, is an obstruction.
The difference between constipation and obstruction is that with constipation you can pass gasses freely.
At your age any conatipation should not be ignored. Its because it can be a symptom of colon cancer.
So please do not wait with your conatipation any longer. Visit your doctor and have colonoscopy done.

Other cases (where there was no stool for 7 days or even longer) which I have heard of and examined, had an urgent surgery with STOMA creation. This cases was not a constipation but complete bowels obstruction (due to colon cancer mostly).
8 days of being constipated sounds like you may have serious problem with your large intestine.
