Question : What causes puss in stools?
my last BM consisted of loose, chunky white jelly-like blobs with grayish green pieces. I've never seen anything like it before, also multiple canker sores in my mouth---maybe just coincidence. No other symptoms or discomfort. I'm worried it could be STD related

Brief Answer:
Looks to be Colitis and aphthous ulcers in mouth

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
The changes in the stool and the presence of the sores in the mouth may not be a coincidence.
In practice we do see appearance of aphthous ulcers in the mouth with colitis (the changed stool you had is suggestive of an infection).

You may please post a picture of sores in the mouth.

As per your history I think you need the following:
- Stool tests as well as routine blood and urine tests.
- Test of STD if you had a risk involved.
- A 5-day course of an antibiotic, Metronidazole, PPI - you need a valid prescription from your local Doctor.
- Additional treatment with Probiotics, Multivitamins.

Just wanted to ask why are you bothered about STD? Was there any such exposure?

I hope this answer helps you.

Theres also a sore on the back of my tongue and what feels like a scrape or abrasion on the soft part of the roof of my mouth. The STD concern is because i have had unprotected sex in the past three days---granted im in a monogamous relationship, its just paranoia.

Brief Answer:
Aphthous ulcers

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the feedback and the picture.

These looks to be aphthous ulcers as I said. Do not look like any STD (and not possible in monogamous relationship).

- A 5-day course of an antibiotic, Metronidazole, PPI - you need a valid prescription from your local Doctor.
- Additional treatment with Probiotics, Multivitamins.

Should help you.
