What Causes Loose Jelly Like Bowel Movements After Gallbladder Surgery?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Sep 2017
Question: I had an ERCP a few days ago and was released to home after a stent was placed in my gallbladder. I have experienced loose jelly-like stool since. This stool was examined regularly while at hospital and nothing was said. Is this an indication of bleeding?

Brief Answer:
No!!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed this information fully. It is not a sign of bleeding. Bleeding would rather present with black tarry stools. For now, monitor only and this should return to normal as it is more of a transient change than an ongoing disease or complication.

Keep me updated. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
