Question : My daughter is 20weeks now. She caught cold in previous week. My doctor prescribed Azithral at night for 6 days, Ascoril+ thrice a day for 10 days and Telecast-L twice a day for 2 weeks. All the medicines are before breastfeeding. After 5 days her potty becomes too much liquid. Is there anything to worry?
Brief Answer:
nothing to worry, will settle soon
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Azithral is an antibiotic.
It can cause loose stools as side effect.
I usually prescribe probiotics like bifilac syrup 2ml twice daily to help in such cases.
This antibiotic associated diarrhoea will settle soon after you stop antibiotic ( 5 days is enough for azithral )
Wishing your child speedy recovery
