What Causes Loose Stools After Eating Steak And Cheese?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Nov 2016
Question: I started with loose bowels after eating at a Steak house. Had a salad with Blue cheese dressing and a small steak ate a few pieces of a Bloomin Onion. Had diarrhea about 4 hours after eating. I thought it was just from the greasy Bloomin Onion. The next day i had more diarrhea and blood in my stool. It ended last night after I had mostly blood in the toilet and stopped eating all together. Not much pain but pressure. I THINK I have IBS-D but have never been diagnosed.

Brief Answer:
I see that you had a load of acid causing foods

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,

I see that you had a load of acid causing foods (steak and cheese) that lead to severe acidity, diarrhea and even blood in the stools (lot of acid passing down irritates the sensitive area around the anus, causing it to bleed).

Please take a preparation of Omeprazole for a week once a day before evening meal and go on a strict green and dairy (especially curd/yogurt) diet for a week. I do not think this is IBS.

Please revert back.
Regards
