What Causes Loss Of Appetite In Infants?

Question: hi doctor . my baby boy is 9 month 1 week old. from 2 days he ia not eating anything. he just want breasfeed . but he is active and playing well. my tension is he is not at all eating anything. not even liquids.
Brief Answer:
Could be a fussy eater
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Healthcare Magic.
Children do not eat properly when they are unwell. But they could also be fussy eaters and hence not want to eat. I say this more so because you mention that the child is otherwise active and breast feeding well. If the onset is sudden or had the baby been lethargic, I would have asked you to rush to a doctor. But condition might not be that worrisome. I would still insist you to schedule an appointment with your pediatrician and get the child evaluated.
Hope that helps

hi doctor. thanks for your answer. today morning suddenly severe rashes appear on baby private area.is it something infection baby has and he is not able to eat. rashes are bloody at one side. attaching images . please advise further
Brief Answer:
Fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
I have looked at the images. It seems to be a fungal infection. Application of candid lotion (clotrimazole) and keeping the area dry, should resolve the problem in 5-7 days.
If you feel that the child is not feeding well or has other problems, please visit a pediatrician and get the child assessed properly.
