Question : MY SON IS 21 YEARS OLD AND HAS NO APPETITE ( NEVER HAS) Had his thyroid checked & had him checked for diabetes but both negative. His body temperature is below normal upon waking up before much movement. Should we check his adrenal glands or what. We worry about his nutrition, dark circles under eyes, gets shaky. He exercises and has good muscle tone but gets dizzy and feels bad a lot. Any suggestions?
Brief Answer:
Yes, get done cortisol level and serum vitamin b 12 level.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your son's situation and problem.
For his symptoms, you should definitely get done serum cortisol level to rule out adrenal gland disorder. Also get done vitamin b 12 level as deficiency can cause similar symptoms.
Also get done serum lipid profile as dyslipidemia can also cause similar symptoms.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your son.
Thanks.
