Posted on Wed, 20 Apr 2016
Question: My mother had deep teeth/gum cleaning in Sept 2015. Since then she has lost 35 lbs, had no appetite and not much taste for food. She has nausea and feels week all day. Can this be caused from the teeth cleaning?

Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
First, no gum cleaning cannot cause the symptoms, not for so long.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible gastritis.
I would suggest that you get a prescription for pantocid 40 mg twice a day.
It may help if you get a combination with domperidom like Pantoprazole D.
Ideally, an endoscopy is needed.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal

I know she has lost weight but she constantly says she has no feeling of fullness and her arms feel light.

Detailed Answer:
Gastritis is not always feeling of fullness.
It may be many other presentations.
And she is loosing weight cause she is probably not eating well.
I think its worth trying with Pantoprazole .
Best of luck, Dr Mittal
