Brief Answer:
Radiation side effects

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

From your description you seem to have had whole brain radiation. The downside of that type of therapy is that besides the tumor cells it also damages some healthy brain cells as well. The effects are often seen even in long term, even months after the treatment as there is necrosis, cell death. That is why that type of therapy is being used less and less, only when there is no other choice, because it causes a global decline in brain functions, fatigue and poor balance may present as well.

Furthermore depending on where they have developed the metastatic lesions as well can cause poor balance, especially if in the posterior brain areas.

Unfortunately there is not any specific treatment for the side effects of whole brain radiation I am afraid. We try to minimize the swelling through dexamethasone, but there are no other alternatives apart from that, chemotherapy has not shown any efficacy for brain metastasis.

I am sorry if I couldn't be more helpful. I remain at your disposal for other questions.
