Brief Answer:
You need a psychiatric evaluation to rule out ADHD.
Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Thanks for writing back,
I have read your response closely and first i will give you a summary of ADHD then i will come up with my opinion.
An individual with inattention may have some or all of the following symptoms:
Be easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another
Have difficulty maintaining focus on one task
Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless doing something enjoyable
Have difficulty focusing attention on organizing and completing a task or learning something new
Have trouble completing or turning in homework assignments, often losing things (e.g., pencils, toys, assignments) needed to complete tasks or activities
Not seem to listen when spoken to
Daydream, become easily confused, and move slowly
Have difficulty processing information as quickly and accurately as others
Struggle to follow instructions
An individual with hyperactivity may have some or all of the following symptoms:
Fidget and squirm in their seats
Talk non stop
Dash around, touching or playing with anything and everything in sight
Have trouble sitting still during dinner, school, doing homework, and story time
Be constantly in motion
Have difficulty doing quiet tasks or activities.
My opinion:
According to your history, description and your response to my questions, in my opinion only attention deficit and restlessness CAN NOT be diagnosed or thought as ADHD, attention deficit , restlessness and scartered mind can also be there in depression or anxiety so we can not say that you have ADHD for sure, based upon your history.
SUGGESTIONS:
1) Don't panic and set up an opointment with your doctor.
2) You need to get a psychiatric consult and evaluation to see what might be causing your symptoms.
3) Don't think of starting meds without being checked up and getting prescribed by the psychiatrist.
4) I want to assure you that things in your case look highly treatable and controllable , all you need is a consult and using meds and methods to make yourself better.
Wish you the very best of health.
Stay blessed.
