What Causes Loss Of Libido While On Gabapentin?

Question: Hi,
I just took my last whittled down dose of Gabapentin. I went off of it because I completely lost my libido in the month I was on it as well as my ability to achieve an orgasm. How long will it take me to return to normal.
Thanks,
Ray

Get the tests done
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the query
Gabapentin affects sexual life by having inhibitory effect on testosterone Normally also testosterone is reduced with ageing so Gabapentin causes more sexual side effects in aged population The ideal would be to gradually reduce the dose of Gabapentin over 1 month . Get the Total testosterone level checked along with Total PSA ,SHBG and Serum Albumin It may take 6-8 weeks with daily moderate exercise to regain sexual function
