Question: My legs are have been losing strength for the past 8 years , getting worse every year. I can't find anyone who knows what is wrong, maybe PLS ? My email address is YYYY@YYYY . I got an MRI that showed a healthy spine.
Brief Answer:
Get examined by a neurologist and investigated
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Decrease in lower limb strength may be due to spinal cord root compression, cord compression, peripheral nerve involvement or muscle involvement.
Is there any urinary difficulty?
Is the weakness more distally or proximally in legs?
Any calf pain?
Any sensation loss?
Any diabetes, renal dysfunction, liver disease, thyroid abnormalities?
Examination by a neurologist will be helpful.
Nerve conduction testing and blood testing are required.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
