Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully passed through your question and would recommend not taking blood pressure medicine in the next days in order to avoid the recurrence of low blood pressure episodes.

It is necessary taking plenty of fluids to remain well hydrated.

If the problem persists, I would recommend consulting with her attending physician and performing some tests:

- thyroid hormone levels in order to make possible arrangements to her current thyroid therapy
- blood electrolytes for possible dysfunction
- complete blood count for anemia
- a cardiac ultrasound to examine her heart function and structure.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information.

Coming to this point, I would recommend to follow my advice and avoid blood pressure medicine in the next days. A close monitoring of blood pressure is also necessary to exclude possible blood pressure fluctuations.

Regarding aricept, I would explain that nausea and vomiting are a common adverse effect of this drug. It can also cause insomnia, hallucination and confusion, which can exacerbate her situation.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
