Question : My Oxygen saturation level sometimes goes as low as 87, but climbs back into the 90's without my wearing my Oxygen. This has happened since I quit using Morphine sulfate, but I still use some Vicodin. Am I alright to go without using oxygen unless I exert myself?

Brief Answer:
within 90% is fine

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. When one withdraws from morphine then it takes a while for body to acquire to it as morphine interacts with respiratory system. Oxygen saturation should be within 90s range. As in your case level does remain within 90% on avg. so you do not need to worry BUT keep a close eye on your health chart. If you observe that the level falls below 90 for a longer time then you need to seek medical attention & use oxygen.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
