Brief Answer:
Viral infection can cause low platelet count.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have shingles. Any viral infection can leads to slightly low platelet count. So it is very common. No need to big worry. Just take treatment of shingles and UTI. Your platelet count will come back to normal within few days. If you have any symptoms of bleeding then consult your doctor urgently. Otherwise no need to worry. Just be relaxed. Repeat your platelets count after 1 week.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
