Question : Dear Doctors,
I am currently studying abroad in Ecuador for 4 months now. I currently have 2 more months left. I am concerned because within the 4 months I have not had my period and am not sexually active. Normally I have irregular periods but not to this extent. My face is breaking out uncontrollably, especially on my cheeks and chin. Within the 4 months I have displayed normal symptoms prior to getting my period such as some vaginal but odorless discharge, breast tenderness etc, but have not had my period.
Currently, I am experiencing mild lower abdominal cramping a for 3 days now and have been experiencing an increase amount of discharge (for quite a while now) to which I have to use a thin panty liner.
I am not sure whether this is something I should seek medical attention for or wait until I return from my studies.
Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
First, this doesn't seem so serious for some urgent action, but if there is severe bleeding, fever or progressive abdominal pain then you should see ER. However,it sounds to me like hormonal imbalance which may be seen in polycystic ovarian syndrome or endometriosis so these conditions should be evaluated by gynecologist when you return to your home country. Wish you good health. Regards
