Hi,

I understand your concerns about the pain during ovulation.

This pain during ovulation is called "mittelschmerz".

When egg is releases during ovulation, it is by rupture of ovarian wall. This wall is pain sensitive and hence pain.

Along with this fallopian tubes and smooth muscles also contract leading to increased pain in lower abdomen and back which sometimes radiates down to leg.
