default
Posted on Wed, 23 Nov 2016
Question: Hi, so I keep getting a sharp pain in my left side off and on through out the day. The pain in my side can make my lower left side of my back hurt. I also get stomach pains every time i eat anything and nausea but have never thrown up yet. This has been going on for about three weeks now. Any ideas what it could be?

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pain in the left lower part of the abdomen could be due to Left sided Ureter stone,Twisted left ovarian cyst etc.
Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue.
Please consult your doctor and get an ultrasound abdomen.
If it is normal, then it could be musculoskeletal pain.I prescribe skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside 4mg twice daily to my patients with similar complaints. For nausea,I prescribe Tablet Rabeprazole 20mg along with Levosulpiride 150mg once daily before breakfast.
Nothing to worry. It will come down.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
