What Causes Lower Left Abdominal Swelling With Constipation?

Question: Lower left abdomen swells up after eating and I become constipated. Pressure radiates up the left side of my body making my shoulder, arm & hand numb and stiff. Lower back pain increases and it is difficult to walk.
This condition is getting worse even though i have increased my probiotic and enzymes. I have to sip magnesium citrate to have a BM.

Disturbed gastric flora with constipation is the basic problem in your case.So if we control them your symtoms would settle down by themself.

Our intestine consists of trillions of good bacteria's termed specifically as gut flora. Gut Bacteria help digest and absorb Foods. The most plentiful and important bacteria in the small intestine are the Lactobacillus species.
Lactobacillus helps ferment indigestible carbohydrates. Gut bacteria helps in the production of mucous and digests food properly hence prevent constipation.Toxins produced by food, age poor diet etc are among various factors causing dysbiosis in which the good bacterial colonies get deplete while bad bacteria's over number them. This causes a problem with digestion like constipation pain abdomen, bloating etc.

Follow the suggestions for 4 weeks.
-Take omeprazole 40 mg once daily.

-Please start taking Syp. Lactulose 10-15 ml once daily at night time(laxative).
-Psyllium husk(natural fiber) should be taken 2 tsf once daily soak in half a cup of lukewarm water.It increases the bulk of stool, lubricates stool and helps in the formation of well-formed stools
-Try to increase your daily fiber intake gradually. maintain it at 25-30 grams/day.

Take 1 cup of fruits like orange banana pears that is enough to meet your extra fiber requirement.
Take lots of curd and probiotic rich food.

keep yourself hydrated.Water increases the motility of stools..
Linseed oil and fish is good for you.
Avoid meat,egg and dairies.
No smoking and alcohol.

Keep on taking enzyme supplements daily.
