Posted on Tue, 27 Oct 2015
Question: I have been taking Crestor 20mg for some time now, but I get excruciating lower leg muscle cramps (have had to call an ambulance 3 times in as many years). also fibromyalgia, aosteoarthritis, and more recently tiredness. My GP is away and I don't see my cardiologist until next year. Qin also take Ezetrol 10mg. Can I safely reduce Creston to 20mg until I get to see a medico (have had 2 consecutive nights of terrible pain), XXXX

Brief Answer:
I need to know your lipid Profile.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you to my virtual clinic HCM!
I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns today and will put my best efforts to get you out of this situation.

Crestor and Ezetrol are given together in combination to lower the cholesterol levels. If you have very high levels, these drugs are inevitable.

But I am here to assist you in any way. I have to look at your cholesterol status first. Have you recently done with the Fasting Lipid Profile??? Can you please upload this laboratory test report in a follow up query??

This pain may be due to the side effects of these lipid lowering drugs.

You are already taking 20 mg of crestor and in your query you are asking if you can reduce the dose to 20 mg. Did you mean something else?? can you please clear this point???

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you in no time. If satisfied here, please give a generous five star rating to help us assist our patients in a better way; and, please don't forget to 'Close This Discussion'.
For any disease you have, a timely follow-up after sometime regarding the treatment efficacy and to see if there is any need to change the treatment options is very necessary. So keep a follow up to see how you doing (Write down my name in the start of your question always & I will be with you sooner).
