default
Posted on Thu, 14 Jul 2016
Question: I have these lumps on the back of my tongue, they're kind of hard. I don't see any noticeable swelling in my mouth or lymph nodes. I don't have a fever of any sort, and don't take medication.

Brief Answer:
They are normal swellings

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Please dont worry , from the picture that you have sent, they look like normal swellings and are called as lingual tonsils.

In some people they are slightly more bigger, but this is a normal phenomenon and you have nothing to worry.

They may also enlarge in patients with recurrent sore throat, sinusitis or gastro esophageal reflux.

Since you do not have any symptoms or discomfort, no treatment is required and you can just gargle daily with warm salt water 2-3 times a day for a month.

Dont worry
You will be fine!
Take care!
