What Causes Lymph Node Swelling In The Neck Post An Intercourse?

Question: Hi.. I'm a 36 yr old male. I had a protected intercourse last month in a port in xxxxxx. I'd like to know is it possible to acquire HIV if vaginal fluids come into contact with minor cuts on base of penis or testicles (caused by shaving of hair there before intercourse). I've been going paranoid thinking about the symptoms of HIV but I haven't had any fever or visible rash or any swelling of lymph nodes. However maybe repeated feeling of lymph nodes on my neck may be causing one to pain but without any swelling. Also due to anxiety of it have had a few motions. Other than that no loss of appetite or weight loss. The very day after the intercourse I had an itchy skin lasting a week which went away after using a clotrimazole ointment. I did use a condom but I'd shaved my genitals for the act, so just wanna know is it possible if the possible to contract HIV if the vaginal fluids came in contact with any minor cut on the testicles or base or penis.
Brief Answer:
Transmission unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. For transmission of HIV you need to have transmission of infected body fluids. I do not think that you could get HIV from the minor trauma caused due to shaving. I would insist you not to panic. However, if apprehensive I would insist you to get tested (in order to rule it out).
Let me know if I could help further.

Many thanks for your reply doctor. Pls let me know what type of test is recommended and its accuracy rate. The incident happened on 9th July so its already one month past so which test will best give accurate result. Also pls confirm the fact that there is no possibility of transmission of virus through vaginal fluids coming in contact with minor cut (if any) caused by shaving of hair in the region. Also i'd like to know how and from where does the virus actually transmit during a sexual contact. Shall appreciate a prompt reply.. many thanks
Brief Answer:
Test after 120 days
Detailed Answer:
As I have already mentioned, if you are apprehensive you can get tested for HIV. If the results are negative at 120 days or more interval from the exposure you can safely rely on it to be actually negative. The possibility of transmission due to contact of vaginal fluids with minor shaving cuts is minimal but cannot be ruled out completely. The virus can be present in the bodily fluids and can be transmitted when there is a transmission of bodily fluids.
