What Causes Menstruation After Skipping One Packet Of Contraceptive Pills?

Question: hi.. just asking a question ob behalf of my friend.. she started the contraceptive pill 3 months ago.. been ok on it.. had periods on the correct times. this third month she decided to skip her sugar pills as she was going on a road trip and didn't want the inconvenience of a period.. but even though she skipped sugar pills and went straight on to the next packet.. she still got her periods .. it's been 5 days now and she normally is very regular and no problems with her periods.. just wondering should she continue her tablets or stop it?

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
She should continue taking the pills followed by sugar pills.
Stopping pills now on 5 th day of periods can disturb in contraception, as the next pack of contraceptive pills need to be started within5 days of periods.
