Brief Answer:
get a pap smear and ultrasound done to r/o cancer.

Detailed Answer:
hello,
Thanks for contacting healthcaremagic.

If your menses have not stopped for a year in toto, then you cannot be termed as being under menopause. In perimenopausal period which starts 2 years prior to actual menopause your cycles would become irregular and delayed , sometimes by 2 months as well.
But in your case the bleeding is frequent and you are experiencing polymenorrhagia, so it is important to rule out source of cbleeding either from cervical erosion or from uterus. It is advised that a perspeculum examination be done for you with a pap smear to rule out any cervical ectopy or anaplasia/ cervical cancer or growth causing this bleed . Also an ultrasound pelvis to ascertain the endometrial thickness which if more than 10mm , would require a endometrial biopsy for histopathlogical exam to rule out uterine cancer as well.

Also , hormonal profile should be done to look for FSH and LH levels to ascertain development of perimenopausal. A high value would indicate the same.
Please visit your physician for an evaluation.
