What Causes Mild Abdominal Pain And Bloating While On Hydrocodone?
Question: Broke right anterior 7th rib 3 days ago. Today I am experiencing right to mid abdominal pain and bloating and some upper back pain. The pain has been increasing throughout the day. I am on Hydrocodone 7.5 three times daily and.can piggy back with Advil. Should I be worried about the abdominal pain?

Since the right anterior rib 7 was broken 2 months ago and have broken the same 3 days ago, pain in right to mid abdomen, bloating an upper pain is most probably not related to the broken the rib as this does not come in contact with abdominal viscera in usual way; would have caused the respiratory problems.
Hence I think this should be taken seriously till a proper diagnosis of the abdominal and back symptoms are diagnosed carefully by the following:
Clinical evaluation and examination by your Doctor, referral to a General Surgeon and investigations as needed to know the exact diagnosis.
Additionally, Ultrasonography, X-ray of the abdomen along with routine and microanalysis of the blood, stool, and urine may help further.
