What Causes Mild Pinkish Discharge From Vagina Post Colonoscopy?

Posted on Sat, 21 Nov 2015
Question: I have Spotting (PINK light only once or twice a week.Going on for about one year! /Went to urologist as I thought it would be urinary. He preformed a systocopic/and a Bladder Scan.He saw nothing until he examined me vaginally and a trickle of blood came out.He told me to go to my Gyncologist. She did a scan/I had a Pap test done and they called said it was ok! After a few weeks I had it again. I went back and she found a very small lesion tucked behind a fold. She biopsied it and it was alrright..She just told me to use some E oil around the Vagina .So I have been there three times and they find nothing. This all started two yrs ago after I had a colonoscopy. I do have Hemmoroids occasionally.I had a hysterectomy Years ago when I was 34.I am always thinking that maybe there was a puncture at the time of my colonoscopy somewhere between my Rectum and the Vagina.Sometimes its a clear with pink blood and sometimes it looks brownish color Like POOP(Sorry). I do have colitis also. I would really like to know now what I should do as no one seems to be able to help me.

Brief Answer:
Not due to colonoscopy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The mild pinkish discharge from vagina can be due to vaginal dryness related to menopause. This may not be associated with any lesion. If you have been examined thoroughly then there is no need to worry. Any puncture during colonoscopy is not likely that will not heal and form a fistula like opening.
Just try to keep the area moisturized. It will help.
