Question: Slight swelling, mild redness, and severe pain lateral to anal opening. It looks like infection to me. Duration is 2 days and also accompanied by person not feeling well, possible fever. Is this a possible boil that should rupture? Any other possibilities?

* Guidelines at present

- Continue Sitz bath ( sitting in tub filled with lukewarm water for 5 minutes
each 3 times a day and additionally after passing stool ) .
- Local application of Xylocaine ( 5 % ) jelly will give better pain relief .
- Manage soft , smooth regular bowel evacuations with plenty of liquids and
high fiber diet .
- Intake of NSAIDs as Advil or others will give pain control .
