Question: Hello, I was wandering, I had a feeling of heat in groin area next to leg with mild swelling of lymph glands in this area .Was thinking it was maybe LGV . No redness or no bubos cant even see any swelling but if feeling glands they are bigger then other side. They are not very sore.I had a urine test for Chlamydia Trachomatis and it was negative . So my questions is --- is it safe to say that I do not have LGV if Urine test is negative.

Brief Answer: Kindly provide the requested data! Detailed Answer: Hi, You are reporting mild swelling of lymph glands on groin area. Are you also having discharge from penis or pain while passing the urine flow? If you had a PCR test of urine sample, then, can say that you do not have LGV unless you are also having the above-mentioned symptoms. I would suggest to do the biopsy of the swollen lymph nodes for reassurance. Looking forward to have the requested data in! Thank you! Dr.Albana

I have no pain during urination or no discharge . I had a urine test for infection and chlamydia trachomatis both were negative . one thing I did not mention was that I am having mild chronic epididymis. so you do not feel it is LGV.

Brief Answer: If tests negative, don't think it's LGV.... Detailed Answer: Hi, If no discharge and no pain during urination, and both tests for chamydia resulted negative, then, I do not feel it is LGV. However, I still insist to do biopsy of the swollen lymph-nodes for further evaluation. Having mild chronic epididymitis might also be causing your symptoms. Further evaluation by urologist should be done for specific treatment. Dr.Albana
