Question : I had the implanon in for three years and after it was taken out had the Nexplanon in for about 9 months before taking it out. It's been about a month since removal and have been having odd symptoms like mood swings, sore breasts and increased smell. I've taken multiple at home tests and all have come up negative. Any possibility they have been false negatives?
Brief Answer:
Hormonal variation
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply
1. Removal of the implant is associated with hormonal variations especially progesterone.
2. These hormonal variations lead to mood swings and breast tenderness.
3. These are not pregnancy symptoms alone. There is no chance of pregnancy as multiple home tests are negative.
4. Wait for a month during which these hormonal variations should subside.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
