What Causes Moon Face After Having Omnacortil For Knee Pain?

Question: sir i am taking omnacortil 20mg from lst 1 month n dose r like mrng 3tab n aftrun n nite 1 ech..all total 100mg a day..i hav a stiff knee joint problm as i had a acdnt and due to prnc of xtrnl fix. fr 3 mnth doc advic to tak omnacortil to prvnt frm pain n mr stifns..bt nw my volume has incrs n my face becmng round n round like moon..in wat way i hav to reduce this doses..need urgent help.

Hello,
I have studied your case and I m not able to understand why you are taking omnacortil for knee stiffness ? Omnacortil is a steroid and use for inflammation but it has serious side effects like moon face, obesity, infections, cataract and so on. Also you are taking very high dose.
I would like to know few details.
1.Tell me your case history in detail.
2. Are you having implant in the leg like Ex fix or rod?
3. How much knee bending is present right now?
4. If you can send me scan prescription of your doctor than I can understand your case much better.

sir i had an accdnt on 18th oct 2014 where i got injurd on my lft leg and lost soft tissue jst blw the knee..there is no fructure bt a smal sectn of petala is brkn n a part of tibia was exposed..doc put a ext. fixcator n refferd for plastic surgy. 2wk i had drsng and dn pedical grftng and aftr mr 2wk plastic surgy was done.The surgy was not compltly sucsful due to prnc of infsn in bone and 10% of muscl is rejctd. The wound hels automaticly by regual drsng n due to which a delay occur in opn out of ext. fixactor..the fixcator was removrd on 27Jan 2015. In btwn the doc advc me to tak omnacortil 20mg in mention doses .he told me it wil hlp in remvng stifns n pain..i startd taking dis n its been almst a month. The doc who advc me in nw trnfr to sm other plc n i couldnt conct him so i need serious hlp. I tested by not taking omnacortil mrng dose n aftrnun dose jst 1 day ago bt it feels me wk n pain strtd on knee dn today i continued..i need serious hlp sir.
#I can bend my lft leg XXXXXXX than 5° .physiothrepy wil be strtd frm this monday.
sir plz hlp me how to stp dis medcn or what to do nw??

You need to stop it slowly

Hello,
We need to taper your dose because sudden stopping can cause pain and swelling. So you should gradually decrease its doses. So you can shift to one daily for ten days than alternate day and so on.
Start Physiotherapy and try to gain as much as movement possible.

you need to take it for next one and half month

hello,
you can take 50 mg daily for ten days than 25 mg daily for next ten and than 10 mg daily for ten day. After that 5 mg for ten days. And than make it 2 mg daily for five days. And than 2 mg every alternate day. Do not be panic. It is common drug and you will be able to get rid of it.
