Question : I have been on duromine for 3 days. I now have a mouth ulcer and a very sore spot in my throat. Is this because of the duromine? I cannot find where this is a side effect.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There could be a number of causes for mouth ulcers. Most common include GI upset & drugs. Sometimes reaction to a drug may occur which is not documented because every human body is unique(so there is a chance that such reaction may not occur if someone else uses it). It usually resolves itself in few days. Meanwhile you can use somogel (combination of Lignocaine (Base), Menthol, Eucalyptol, Cetylpyridinium chloride & Ethanol). You can apply in small quantity over the ulcer for few mins and then wash mouth with plain water. It acts as local anesthetic and will give soothing effect.
