Question : Hi doctor,
I am experiencing left leg pain (muscle soreness, numbness, tingling) the pain kind of shifts....it started in my calf and has gradually gone up to my knee and thigh. I am also experiencing hip pain & mid back pain (discomfort, soreness). I went to the doctor and had blood/urine work done. All test came back normal, except that I have a lower White blood cell count. Not very low, but lower than the normal range. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
?? Sciatica could be the cause sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. So based on the information provided, your pain ranges from your mid or lower back down until your knee region? It does shift or appear in different regions, but all within the area of your mid back until your knee?

If I got the above information right, then the diagnosis I am suspecting is a condition called Sciatica. It is pain that is caused by the sciatic nerve and the causes are:

+Over-growth of a bone in your spine
+Herniated disk
+Increase in weight
+Excessive physical activity or exercise involving the region
+Prolonged seated position: Especially seen in IT professionals due to their job activities
+Occupational predisposition
+Diabetes

I would recommend an x-ray of your spine, MRI or CT scan of the spine and back region. I would also like to refer you to an orthopedic for further management, but please do write back to me if you feel any of the above causes could be the most likely cause in your specific case.

Also, initiation of treatment to help relieve you of the pain should be considered. For this, you should visit an orthopaedic. I hope you find my response both helpful and informative sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.
