Question: I have a muscle spasm on my right temple. sometimes i can fell my jaw moving when my teeth are relaxed on each other. Sometimes i will have weird sensations like a tingling feeling in my temple that lasts for a couple seconds. It seems to happen when I'm relaxed… sleeping or watching tv. sometimes it will be twitching throughout the day and then sometimes it will do it only once or twice. sometimes i will go 5 days without feeling it and then all of a sudden it will start happening and last for a day or two then relax again. I don't have any headaches but the area does feel tinder sometimes. it also seems like my hairline is receding on that side a little. i've tried watching what i eat and exercising more but it doesn't seem to help. my temple is naming out as i type, Please help I'm losing sleep over this.

Brief Answer:
Neurological examination/Severe anxiety/Psychosomatic manifestations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Thanks for providing an elaborate medical history. If you would have presented to me with this clinical history,I would have performed a thorough neurological examination on you,to see,if any,the abnormalities of reflexes, sensations and cranial nerves. If any abnormality found on examination,I would have investigated accordingly.I would have got a brain imaging study like magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) done,if indicated.

So,first and the foremost,I would ask you to visit a neurologist to get yourself physically examined by him.

Additionally,I would also like to keep here a strong possibility of Severe anxiety or Psychosomatic manifestations as severe anxiety is very commonly known to manifest with these symptoms.Rather, one step ahead,I would say that these are classical features of severe anxiety resulting into psychosomatic manifestations.

For now, please get examined by a neurologist.Start doing mental relaxation exercises/Yoga/meditation regularly and sincerely.Tab.amitriptyline 10 mg once a day at bedtime should be taken,as it will likely of help.
PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.
