Brief Answer:
Muscle spasm likely to be due to overexertion

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The body muscles are acclimatized to a limit of exertion and after crossing limit the muscle is unable to function properly.
In your case, sustained grip of steering while driving may have lead to spasm in hand.
Most likely it will not repeat in normal conditions.
Avoid excessive stress, physical exertion.
Wishing you good health and early recovery.
Do get back to me for further queries.
