Question : I have been taking atorvistatin for several years. I have recently started experiencing muscle pain and weakness. My husband has to rub my legs at night. The pain is in my arms and legs but worse in my upper legs and knees. Do you think this is a side effect of the atorvistatin?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the limb pain that you feel could be related to atorvastatin adverse effects.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your doctor and performing muscular enzyme levels (CPK) and liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT).

If these enzymes result elevated, I would recommend stopping atorvastatin, because it could be the cause of such alteration and thus your complaints.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
