What Causes Muscle Weakness,joint Pain,diarrhoea,itchy Skin After Taking Levofloxicin?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I had pain in groin and testicles . Doc did ultrasound and urine analysis and found normal and said prostate also normal. Tried treatment with ibuprofen and didnt help and now he is suspecting infection in uthera and prescribed levofloxicin 500 mg once a day for 7 days. I started dose from 2 days and after second today morning I am feeling week and pains in joints. And also motion is happening multiple times. And also i feel my urine is plane i mean looks like water and also feeling a itching in different parts of body. Is it is allergic reaction of levofloxicin ?
1. Do i have to stop the dose.?
2. How log does this levofloxicin takes to go out of body ?

Hello Doc Do i need seperate treament for these side effects ? i hv stopled drug and does these go away once levofloxin clears up ? As my doctor is on leave tilk monday is it fine to wait till then or i hv to go for emergency ?

Hello Doc, I also have headache and couldnt sleep fully every 1-2 hours i got up and slept again. Is this is also side effect ? As its been its been 30 hours already i stopped medication. Do i have to wait for one more day untill antibiotic clears up from body to get rid of this headache ? or any other home treatment would help. ? Can i try probiotic yogurt to handle stomach bloating ? I read in forums this bloating is usially due to bacteria imbalance ans can be solved with probiotic

You can take Ibuprofen or Tylenol for the headache.Take a hot shower ,chamomile tea before sleep.
You should give it some days for the symptoms to improve.

Thank you for your reply. CUrrently I saty in germany and I dont get medicines without prescription and No doctors will be available durin gholidays so i need detailed idea so asking you more questions.
Update : I see today motion improved and its not aften as yesterday.
1) But i see stool feels like jelly or we can say soft. Doest it due to excess water consumption ? I am drinking lot of water to keep myself hydrated. I will start probiotic yogurt now.
2.For headache , I have 2 tablets with me ibuprofen 600mg and diclofenac 50mg , which one you want me take and what is dosage ?
3. Headache : above forehead and full top part feels pain and also right ear.

Thank you for the respose. I have bought a probiotic yougurt. It is with L.Casei
It contains 1 Billion per 100g. and Instruction says ´dosage according to ur doctor.
So now how much amout of yogurt or say Lactobacillus casei i have to consume per day ? Any Limit ?

The recommended dose for probiotics in adult is 10 to 20 billion colony-forming units per day but there is no upper limit.They are also available in capsules.
If these dose is not improving your symptoms you may increase it to 50 billion c.f.u a day or more.

Hello Doc, Thank you for your suggestion now i am on diclofenac , probiotic yogurt and chamomile tea and thank you i can see the improvement buy still little headache and burning sensation in kneews is there. and as doctor has prescribed antibiotic for suspecting infection in uthera. Is there any way or possibility to know in advance about reaction or affect of antibiotic before taking ? becuase if i say this antibiotoc casued problem doc might suggest different one so i am scared of antibiotic now. please let me know if their is any possibility to checl it ?
