Brief Answer:
It's Dust Allergy.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

It seems your wife is having Allergic Rhinitis . It is an allergic condition most likely due to allergy to dust .

So she has to avoid dust exposure as much as possible . Your home ( especially her bedroom ) has to be very clean. her bedspreads and Pillow covers has to be washed every 2-3 days.

I recommend her to start using Duonase Nasal Spray ( Azelastine + Fluticasone ) every morning as soon as she gets up for 2 months. This shall reduce/ resolve her runny nose problem.

Nose bleeds is a complication of Xarelto but this drug is essential for A fib. You can discuss with your doctor and if possible a dose reduction of Xarelto can be done .

Hope this information was useful for you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.

Thank you Dr. Divakara: She has been using Ipratropium Bromide Nasal Solution 2 to 3 times/day, for the past 8 years. This was prescribed to help control a continuous nasal drip (runny nose). I suspect that this nasal solution is a contributing factor, and wonder if Duonase Nasal Spray is effective, but less harsh. Are there any other allergic conditions that you would suspect as contributors?

Brief Answer:
Change to Duonase.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Well I still recommend to switch over to Duonase which gives better control of runny nose than Ipratropium .

Other allergic conditions could be possibility but the chances are less. Conditions like Parasite infestation, hyper ige syndrome, food allergy etc .
